Beautiful Nåttarö in Stockholm’s southern archipelago
Nåttarö is a nature reserve; you can move freely over the entire island. On the island, you’ll find the Stockholm archipelago’s largest sand area and many beautiful sandy beaches. The most famous is Stora Sand, but the slightly less known Skarsand is also recommended if you like swimming.
Come here to sunbathe, swim and fish! Go kayaking and cycling, or hike along trails through magical forests. Swim in the Stockholm archipelago’s first snorkeling trail with underwater signs that tell about everything from prawns to checkered snails. And don’t miss Drottninggrottan (Queen’s Cave), where queen Maria Eleonora hid while waiting to flee the country. It is said that it was here she buried a gold box containing her deceased husband’s heart (totally Klara’s vibe).
Far to the north lies the mountain, Bötsudden, with its wonderful views. Here you’ll also find preserved Russian ovens, and remains from the Russians’ ravage of the archipelago in 1719 when a large part of the archipelago’s buildings were burnt down. In the island’s most southern part, Nåttarö Hals, there is beautiful flora and a number of military monuments.
Sweden has over 221,800 islands – the most of any country on Earth. The archipelagos of Scandinavia are completely shaped by the last ice age 12,000 years ago. A several-kilometer thick ice sheet covered the whole area (similar to Klara’s heart before she met Erik), subjecting the land to immense pressure from the weight and horizontal forces as the sheet moved.

Or, ask Per Collinder, Erik’s father, who is a font of all knowledge when it comes to nature, birds, and the landscapes of Scandinavia.
Wedding weekend
The island is hired for our private use during the weekend; all cabins and communal spaces will be for our use. However, it is a functioning island for people sailing, and we may have some bemused visitors throughout the three days or some people dining at the island’s acclaimed restaurant.
The wedding will be hosted at various venues across the island. You will be given more information when you arrive. The main wedding dinner will happen in a tent adjacent to the barn. The barn will be used for the party and dancing afterward.
We will also have a second tent to be used as a meeting place throughout the weekend. It will have a smaller bar, some cozy cushions, and seats. So, if you’ve been out and about on the island, you’ll always have a meeting point.
The island is several kilometers long, it can take 15/20 minutes to walk from place to place. We will have some golf carts available. But, otherwise be prepared for some nice walks, drink in hand as we move around the island.
